Build the PDI from a completed inspection
Dealer VHC does not make the buyer PDI a separate disconnected form. It uses the completed vehicle health check, its checklist and the recorded job-completion status to create the handover sheet.
The PDI carries the vehicle registration, make/model, mileage, inspection results and issue date. Private customer contact details, internal booking concerns, technician handover notes and repair prices are removed from the buyer-facing copy.

What does PDI mean in a car dealership?

Can a PDI be issued with outstanding work?
Yes. Dealer VHC allows the dealership to issue the PDI while work is still outstanding, and the buyer sheet clearly identifies that status.
Does the buyer PDI include repair prices?
No. Dealer VHC removes labour rates, VAT settings, repair prices and internal customer or technician notes from the buyer PDI.
Can an invited garage issue the dealership PDI?
No. An invited garage can complete assigned inspections and mark preparation jobs completed, but direct dealership users control the buyer PDI.
What happens if work is updated after a PDI was issued?
The existing PDI is revoked when job-completion status changes, preventing the old link from presenting an outdated status. The dealership can then issue a replacement.
